Another great historical novel from Beatriz Williams! This book is about twin sisters Ruth and Iris。 We see Iris’s perspective starting in 1940 when the sisters go to Italy before the war breaks out there, and Ruth’s perspective in 1952 when she receives a postcard from Iris from Russia - when she hasn’t been in touch with Ruth for 12 years, and no one has heard from Iris since she, her diplomat husband, and their children went missing from London 4 years before。 Ruth then is enlisted by the US Another great historical novel from Beatriz Williams! Dianewf,
Absolutely fabulous! Beatriz Williams has mastered a new genre-historical espionage。 Her characters and plotting are incredible。 Her scoundrels are truly loathsome。
Cc,
Pretty interesting。 I really don't have a lot of feeling for this book upon completion, which is very strange。 Didn't love of hate it。 Story plot is a little too drawn out and there are lots of characters to follow。 Family life is well developed, but not so much the secrets of clandestine operations。 It's all "secret" or "magic"。Not overwhelmed by this book Pretty interesting。 I really don't have a lot of feeling for this book upon completion, which is very strange。 Didn't love of hate it。 Story plot is a little too drawn out and there are lots of characters to follow。 Family life is well developed, but not so much the secrets of clandestine operations。 It's all "secret" or "magic"。Not overwhelmed by this book 。。。more

Rachel,
I always enjoy Beatriz Williams writing。 This book was in line with her previous books。 The writing is smooth and flows。 However, she always manages to leave one loose end。 In this book it is the character Marina。 The character was introduced towards the end of the book and then poof somehow her story disappears
Mila Chorosz,
Hate to say this because i LOVE ALL HER OTHER BOOKS but i did not love this one。 Was hard to get into and follow (but could’ve been due to my mind often being going else where)
Lindsay Burns,
I really liked this one。 All the spy stuff was a little tricky to keep straight, but likely I just need to read more slowly。 It sucked me in right from the start!
Kerry,
If you're going to write a main character as a simpering idiot and don't include any development that would show her growth, don't expect the reader to believe she pulls off what Iris pulls off in the end。 The love and romance scenes are so cringey I was embarrassed to read them。 The Ruth character was kind of interesting and portrayed consistently, so the book may have been more successful if it had focused solely on her and not let us peek into the lives of less interesting, developed, or emot If you're going to write a main character as a simpering idiot and don't include any development that would show her growth, don't expect the reader to believe she pulls off what Iris pulls off in the end。 The love and romance scenes are so cringey I was embarrassed to read them。 The Ruth character was kind of interesting and portrayed consistently, so the book may have been more successful if it had focused solely on her and not let us peek into the lives of less interesting, developed, or emotionally mature characters。 。。。more

Mixed emotions with this story。 Lots of sex written in the story as if relationships are just that, a toy to be discarded。 I get why, I get the suspense and the mystery of who is betraying who while, who is genuinely true。 A mix of sisterhood is thrown in the suspense。 The playful banters are a nice touch。 The backdrops of location are enjoyable too。 The ending is unique, but I felt sadly frustrated。 The book is well written if not “morally” to satisfaction。 I hated the religious bits, pick a si Mixed emotions with this story。 Lots of sex written in the story as if relationships are just that, a toy to be discarded。 I get why, I get the suspense and the mystery of who is betraying who while, who is genuinely true。 A mix of sisterhood is thrown in the suspense。 The playful banters are a nice touch。 The backdrops of location are enjoyable too。 The ending is unique, but I felt sadly frustrated。 The book is well written if not “morally” to satisfaction。 I hated the religious bits, pick a side, either for or against。 If not for these triggers, the book would have received a 5 star from me。 。。。more

Beatriz Williams can't write her books fast enough。 She's one of the top historical novelists writing today, and with each book, she expands the universe of the Schuyler family。 This time she focuses on the twin sisters, Ruth and Iris--not technically Schuylers themselves, but they are first cousins with the sisters from the Schuyler trilogy。 I was pretty excited when I learned Williams' new novel would dive into the world of Russian spies during the post-war era。The book alternates between Ruth Beatriz Williams can't write her books fast enough。 She's one of the top historical novelists writing today, and with each book, she expands the universe of the Schuyler family。 This time she focuses on the twin sisters, Ruth and Iris--not technically Schuylers themselves, but they are first cousins with the sisters from the Schuyler trilogy。 I was pretty excited when I learned Williams' new novel would dive into the world of Russian spies during the post-war era。The book alternates between Ruth and Iris's storylines。 Years earlier, Iris fell in love and married a man named Sasha, who is sympathetic to the Soviet cause。 Now Iris is pregnant with her fourth child and living with Sasha in Moscow。 She and Ruth have been estranged for a number of years。 But when Ruth receives a strange letter from her sister, she knows something is wrong。 She partners with the handsome Sumner Fox to extract her sister from a dangerous situation。I don't want to reveal any spoilers, so I won't say anything more about the plot。 Suffice it to say, there's plenty of drama, which kept me turning the pages all weekend long。 I can't wait for the next Beatriz Williams book。 She never disappoints。 。。。more

Beatriz Williams doesn’t disappoint。 This book was a page turner! I enjoyed the characters and seeing them grow and mature throughout the book。 Love the historical weaving and the setting of the birth of a story and the present day completion of the storyline。 Familiar characters who pop in from other stories makes you want to go back and revisit them。 The bond between the sisters and their relationship was intriguing。 I wanted this book to go on and on!

Another great one by Beatrix ! This was an audible listen for me and the narration was great。 Interesting relationships and coverups and surprising twists that all make it a great read。 The timeframes had me confused at times but I think it’s because I was listening vs reading。 Would love a sequel or more of these characters。

Honestly, when I first read the description of Beatriz Williams’ Our Woman in Moscow, I wasn’t sure what to think。 I love all things Beatriz, but a Cold War spy novel? Beatriz, are you sure about this?It turns out she was sure, and Our Woman in Moscow and the story of twin sisters Ruth and Iris shows once again how amazingly talented Beatriz Williams is。 As a reader who isn’t normally all that interested in the Cold War, the KGB, and spies, (sorry to fans of all that, but it’s just not my thing) Honestly, when I first read the description of Beatriz Williams’ Our Woman in Moscow, I wasn’t sure what to think。 I love all things Beatriz, but a Cold War spy novel?
